Southeast Missouri State made program history with its run in the Fayetteville region last June.
With a 9–3 victory over Louisiana Tech in an elimination game, the Redhawks earned their first regional victory since 2002 and only their second regional victory in history.
The next day, they did one better by upsetting host Arkansas by a score of 6–3 to eliminate the Razorbacks and advance to their first ever regional final.
These two wins are huge for confidence building, which is no small feat for a program coming out of the OVC competing with the best of the best.
