Boxing Results: Ardreal ‘Bossman’ Holmes defeats Edwin Junior Jimenez!

Undefeated #8 ranked IBF junior middleweight Ardreal “Bossman” Holmes, Jr. (17-0, 6 KOs) defeated “The Silverback” Edwin Junior Jimenez (9-1.7 KOs) by unanimous decision 10 rounds Thursday evening at Dort Federal Events Center, Flint, Michigan. The votes were 97-93, 97-93 and 97-93.

Joey “The Small Town Soldier” Spencer won by majority decision over previously undefeated Miguel Hernandez in the co-main event.

Southpaw Ardreal “Bossman” Holmes, Jr., defeated “The Silverback” Edwin Junior Jimenez by 10-round decision in the main event.

In the first round, Holmes, with a 7-inch height advantage, used an effective jab, landing an easy round. In the second and third rounds, the wild Jimenez closed in as Holmes returned the body. In the fourth round, Jimenez pressured Holmes the entire time.

In the fifth and sixth rounds, Jimenez outworked Holmes primarily to the body. In the seventh round, Holmes used his jab to land a close round.

In the eighth and ninth rounds, Holmes responded quite well, winning both rounds.

Jimenez controlled the first half of the round in the tenth, with Holmes using right hooks in the final half of a close round.

The referee was Ben Rodriguez: the score was 97-93 for everyone.

In the main support bout, middleweight Joey “The Small Town Soldier” Spencer (19-1, 11 KOs) won a 10-round majority decision over Miguel Hernande (9-1, 7 KOs)

Spencer countered the oncoming Hernandez in a close round in the first. From halfway until the bell, Hernandez had Spencer pinned in the corner in the second. In the third round Spencer came back to do enough to win the round.

In the fourth round, Spencer dominated, landing a right uppercut to the chin with a minute remaining that rocked Hernandez. In the fifth round, Hernandez came back, taking a close round.

Hernandez used an effective jab in the sixth round, making Spencer’s cheekbones red. In the seventh round, Spencer came back with uppercuts to the chin of Hernandez, who took the round. In the eighth round, Hernandez outpointed Spencer.

It went back and forth in the ninth round, with Spencer coming out on top. In the tenth and final round, with the fight on the line, another close round that Hernandez took.

The referee was Ansel Stewart. Scores 95-95, 97-93, 98-92. 95-95KH.

Lightweight Samantha ‘The Heat’ Worthington (10-0, 7 KOs) defeated Jaica ‘The Hit Maker” Pavilus (4-7-1, 1 KO) in 6×2 rounds.

In the first three rounds, it was all Worthington landing Pavilus, who was turning southpaw at times.

In the final seconds of the fourth round, Worthington rocked Pavilus with a right to the chin. In the fifth round it was all Worthington. In the sixth and final round, after a minute, Worthington rocked southpaw Pavilus with a right cross. In the final minute, a clash of heads opened a cut on Worthington’s left eyebrow.

Referee Marc Fennell. The scores were 59-55, 59-55 and 59-55.

Middleweight Da’Velle Smith (11-0, 8 KOs) won a controversial majority decision over southpaw William ‘Turbo’ Townsel (8-2, 6 KOs) in eight rounds.

In the first round, at the halfway point, a right followed by a left from Smith to the chin and low went to Townsel without counting for some reason, rejected by referee Ben Rodriguez. Smith continued to use his jab to control the second round.

In the third round, Townsel, in the first minute, landed his first effective punch, a lead left to Smith’s chin. Smith did well until Townsel landed a left to the chin again in the final twenty seconds. In the final seconds, Smith landed a combination. In the fourth round, at the halfway point, Smith landed a barrage of punches on Townsel’s chin. Townsel rocked Smith with a right hook to the chin in the closing seconds.

In the fifth round, Townsel dominated the round, backing Smith all over the ring, landing mostly lefts to the chin. Smith managed to fight back in the sixth round and may have outpointed Townsel.

In the seventh round halfway point, Townsel rocked Smith with an overhand left to the chin. In the final minute Townsel landed three lefts to Smith’s chin. In the eighth and final round it was all Townsel. In the final seconds, Smith was exhausted, grabbing Townsel and pushing him across the ring to the ropes.

The scores were 76-76, 77-75 and 78-74. 77-75. Townsel 77-75 by KH.

Heavyweight Pryce Taylor (5-0, 3 KOs) stopped KeShawn Jackson (1-4) in the first round of a 4-round match.

Super flyweight Byron Rojas (29-4-3, 11 KOs) defeated Robin ‘Gravedigger’ Ellis (6-8, 5 KOs) in eight rounds.

Featherweight Caroline Veyre (8-1) defeated Gabriela ‘La Gaby’ Bouvier (19-14-1, 4 KOs) in 10×2 rounds.

Junior middleweight Hunter Lee (1-0, 1 KO) knocked out Derrick Shreeve (0-1) in the first round.

The ring announcer was Thomas Treiber.
