Shocked Schofield Sr. guarantees: “We will NOT lose to Shakur!”

Floyd Schofield Sr. says his son, Floyd Jr., will not lose to WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson on Feb. 22 in their fight in Riyadh. He says fans stumble if they believe Schofield Jr (18-0, 12 KOs). it’s just coming for the fun of it.

Boxing fans believe that Floyd Jr. and his father are talking about this fight only for money. They don’t think they can win and will be dominated by Shakur (22-0, 10 KOs) on DAZN PPV.

The way they pushed for this fight and ignored promoter Oscar De La Hoya, who said Floyd Jr. needs more experience, makes it seem like it’s all about the money. If Schofield Jr. had at least one quality win on his resume, fans would believe he really wants to win.

“We’re coming to win”

“We’re not going out there to lose. You are all annoyed. We went against all odds. I tell Oscar [De La Hoya] to fight, and we’re going to go against all odds,” Floyd Schofield Sr. said on social media, speaking about his son’s fight against WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson on Feb. 22.

“We’re used to this, fighting with our backs against the wall because we have something to fight for. We are breaking generational curses. We’re having fun. We’ll make a splash. I hope you’re all tuned in for the fight.

“We thank Shakur for the opportunity. We will continue to be humble because it is time to grow in our lives. I want to be humble and spread love, but we will never lose a mental battle against each other. Come on now, you have to be sincere about this,” Schofield Sr. said.

It says a lot about Shakur that he chose 22-year-old Schofield Jr. as his opponent rather than selecting much more qualified contenders like Andy Cruz, Edwin De Los Santos, Raymond Muratalla, Jose ‘Rayo’ Velazquez or Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz. Stevenson doesn’t want to lose before getting the Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis fight. Selecting Floyd Jr. is Shakur’s way of making sure he doesn’t get beat.

“By now you already know who I am. You can watch it on the Internet. I will be a humbler version of myself and a quieter version. The bottom line is we’re going out to win. We know we are the underdogs and we like that,” Schofield said.

Floyd Sr. must continue to speak because he is the only one who is truly promoting this fight. Shakur did nothing on his part to elevate the game, and Schofield Jr. was also calm. He’s not a talker.

Upset in Riyadh?

“So please don’t lose all your money betting on Shakur. Don’t be angry with me. Don’t talk nonsense because you lost your family’s money betting on Shakur. We have to prove what we say and we will go out there and rock,” Schofield said r.

“The WBC title is up for grabs and it’s new. I’m telling you all. Continue sleeping. You will all have a nightmare. Go to sleep, Shakur,” Floyd Sr. said.

Schofield’s only chance to win is to knock out Shakur because he won’t win a decision. After all, he might not even win any rounds. The way Floyd Jr. fought Rene Tellez Giron in his last fight on Nov. 2, he doesn’t belong in the same ring as Stevenson.
