Promoter Oscar De La Hoya has revealed he is in talks to stage a Golden Boy Promotions – Matchroom Boxing 5-on-5 event in 2025.

This would be a competition for De La Hoya to match five of his best Golden Boy fighters with Eddie Hearn’s best five available guys. The two fighters will compete to prove who has the best.

“We continue to discuss and prepare to do big things in 2025,” Golden Boy promoter Oscar De La Hoya told Fight Hub TV about planning a 5-on-5 competition with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing next year.

De La Hoya already has one of his fighters, Floyd Schofield Jr., challenging Hearn’s fighter, WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson, on Feb. 22 in the Turki Al-Sheikh event in Riyadh. Oscar is confident that Schofield will upset Shakur in that fight.
